At first glance, it felt like one of those fake job listings you’d scroll past — the kind promising absurd salaries for vague tasks in exotic locations.
But this one was legit.
A Dubai-based staffing agency just posted an opening for a full-time House Manager offering a jaw-dropping salary of AED 30,000 a month (that’s over $100,600 a year), and naturally, the internet lost it.
The position was listed by Royal Maison, a high-end domestic staffing agency that’s been catering to VIP clients across the Middle East since 2013.
Think royalty, CEOs, and A-list celebrities — people who want five-star service in their own homes and are willing to pay for it.
So what exactly do you get paid six figures to do?
According to the listing, the House Manager would oversee staff, manage household budgets, handle maintenance schedules, and ensure the entire home runs like a hotel-level operation.
Basically, you’re the general manager of someone’s mansion — making sure the fridge is stocked, the towels are fluffed, and the dog doesn’t miss its vet appointment.
The wild part? You don’t need a fancy degree. You just need to be organized, discreet, and totally okay with running someone else’s life while yours stays behind the curtain. As one viral comment put it:
“It’s a rare job where you live in luxury… but your job is the luxury.”
Royal Maison clarified that the two current openings — one in Dubai and another in Abu Dhabi — are for “prominent businessmen with families,” not celebrities.
Still, the salary sparked a frenzy.
One user wrote, “I do this for free at home… and no one even says thank you.”
Another joked, “For 30K AED, I’ll happily become your towel-folding ninja.”
Beyond the laughs, the post reignited a conversation about how society values (or undervalues) domestic work. In a world where moms, aunts, and housekeepers run entire households unpaid or underpaid, this job showed what that labor looks like when luxury gets involved — and when it’s men doing the hiring.
No, it’s not a scam. Yes, it pays more than your tech job.
It’s really strange, isn’t it?
From the moment we were born, we try to stay alive and get to the top of this cycle of education, jobs, corporate and then a rich person offers the same pay to just maintain a house.
Fuck, On one side, for that kind of money…I would leave my country and go settle as a houseman but still, even if it sounds like it’s too good to be true, a part of me wants to not take the job if they offered it to me because I want no trouble.
Anyway, somewhere out there, someone just realized their talent for yelling “Who left the lights on?” might finally be worth six figures.
